Rihanna is a huge fan of 'X Factor' hopeful Tamera Foster and believes Simon Cowell will sign up the brunette beauty even if she doesn't win the competition

Rihanna has voiced her backing for 'X Factor' wannabe Tamera Foster.

The 25-year-old singer has been a big fan of the brunette hopeful ever since she heard her rendition of the Bajan star's 2013 hit 'Stay', and Rihanna is confident show boss Simon Cowell will sign Tamera up even if she doesn't win the competition.

She said: "I got sent a link of her after she sang one of my songs at Boot Camp and I have been watching her ever since.

"The shows need to produce a superstar every two or three seasons to give them credibility, and she is already there in week five or whatever it is.

"Simon is a smart guy, he will know she can sell records all around the world and will sign her to his label.

"Tamera looks great, she has an amazing voice, and she has just the right amount of attitude."

Tamera recently had to apologise after it emerged she had previously tweeted about taking drugs, Rihanna believes the wannabe will be a success so long as she works hard.

She is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: "I really don't think it matters at all whether Tamera has made one or two mistakes in her past.

"Show me somebody who hasn't and I will show you a liar.

"All that matters now is that she works hard and gets where her talent means she should be."

Tamera remains joint second favourite to win the show with bookmakers Paddy Power pricing her at 9/2, just behind hot favourite Sam Bailey (5/4).

Scottish star Nicholas McDonald is also available at 9/2, while Rough Copy, who would cost the company a six-figure payout if they triumphed, are 11/2.

Sassy pop and R&B packed with attitude from the multi-award-winning Barbadian singer actress, who has topped the UK charts again and again with hits including 'Umbrella', 'Only Girl (In The World)', 'We Found Love' and 'Diamonds.'
