The Killers' Ronnie Vannucci says the band's show at Wembley Stadium in front of 78,000 fans "scared the s**t" out of him
The Killers' Ronnie Vannucci says the band's show at Wembley Stadium "scared the s**t" out of him.The 'Mr. Brightside' band - which also includes Brandon Flowers, Dave Keuning and Mark Stoermer - headlined the iconic London venue in front of 78,000 fans in June and although they were delighted by the opportunity to play such a huge show, they felt under a lot of pressure to deliver an amazing performance.
Ronnie exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Most of the time you are in the moment, but occasionally you look up and, basically, I looked up and saw this stadium and it scared the s**t out of me. I'm like, 'Man I had better not f**k up. I better deliver here!' We are so lucky to be able to do stuff like that and just glad we got the opportunity to watch the faces at Wembley stadium."
Ronnie settled into the performance by the second half of the night and found their classic tracks "sort of play themselves."
Ronnie added: "The first half of the show was nerve wracking and it sort of started to settle in. It was daunting. A crazy experience because some of these songs we have played for 12 years, so they more or less play themselves until you have a few seconds here and there to realise what's going on."
The band also celebrated playing at the iconic venue by performing 'Wembley Song', which they had penned especially for the occasion.
Hours after their headlining performance they went on to play a special intimate show for 800 people at the tiny Garage club in north London.
The Killers will perform at the 2013 MTV European Music Awards, which will be broadcast live from Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome on Sunday, November 10 at 9pm.
