Nicole Scherzinger has denied she was drunk during 'The X Factor' on Saturday (02.11.13) after she was accused of hitting the bottle due to her wild behaviour on the show

Nicole Scherzinger has denied she was drunk during 'The X Factor'.

The 35-year-old judge was accused of hitting the bottle before the live show on Saturday night (02.11.13) after she shouted comments and waved her arms around during contestant's performances, but she claims she was just "excited."

A spokesman for the ITV programme said: "Nicole wasn't drunk. She was just excited and getting into the disco spirit."

However, the former Pussycat Dolls singer reportedly held a party in her dressing room prior to the talent show kicking off because her family were over from Hawaii.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Nicole had been to see her girls during the day and knew they were going to do well with the disco theme that night so she was pretty relaxed and decided to kick back by having a party.

"Her family were over from Hawaii, and before the show she was dancing and spinning disco classics for them. Everyone was pretty excited and went a bit wild.

"After the Twitter reaction from viewers, staff did ask her people if she'd been drinking and they said she hadn't. There wasn't any evidence of empty bottles in her dressing room afterwards.

"But it is fair to say there were some raised eyebrows. She was definitely more hyper and over the top than previous weeks."

After the programme, which saw all of her acts - Abi Alton, Hannah Barrett and Tamera Foster - perform well, Nicole took her family to The Cucko Club in London for a night of partying.
