Daniel Radcliffe is to star in 'Gold'.
The 'Harry Potter' actor has been cast as Sebastian Coe in a film drama created around his rivalry with fellow athlete Steve Ovett in the years leading up to the Moscow Olympic Games.
The 24-year-old hunk is set to reunite with 'The Woman in Black' director James Watkins, while Simon Beaufoy and Will Davies will co-write the script.
The film will be produced by Joanna Anderson, Vicky Licorish and Kevin Loader, and financing will be provided by Ingenious Senior Film Fund.
Beaufoy - who scored an Oscar award for 'Slumdog Millionaire' in 2009 - admitted earlier this year that the film was a "brilliant story" with a "perfect end".
He told the BBC: "I hadn't realised how good it was until you dig into their past.
"They were fantastically different athletes and different people.
"And they rarely met... apart from on the track - but not very often, even on the track."
Shooting for 'Gold' is expected to kick off next April in the UK and Russia.
