Nick Grimshaw has vowed to 'soap-bomb' popular TV shows to impress his mum.
The new craze, initiated by the Radio 1 DJ, will see him crash the sets of a number of prime-time shows, including 'EastEnders', 'Coronation Street' and 'Emmerdale' in order to make his mum, Eileen, proud.
A source said: "Since taking over the breakfast slot, Grimmy had done really laddy things on the show, like training with Tottenham Hotspur.
"His mum wasn't too fussed about those celebrities ... So he decided to infiltrate all her favourite shows."
The 29-year-old star's cameo appearances have got the go-ahead from series producers and will see the Radio 1 'Breakfast Show' host pop-up in the midst of the dramatic storylines, including a part in an upcoming episode of Australian soap 'Home and Away'.
The source added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Most of the soaps have been really keen to invite Nick on. He's gone along, filmed his bits and chatted about the ones he's done on air. It's great for the profile of the shows."
The 'Sweat The Small Stuff' presenter has set aside an entire week in November to continue his 'soap-bombing' escapades, even inviting his new co-stars to discuss his acting debuts live on Radio 1.
