Quentin Tarantino doesn't find Batman "interesting."

The 50-year-old director thinks the famed superhero who appears in the DC Comics lacks depth, but wishes Ben Affleck luck after he was cast as the fictional character alongside Superman in the 'Man of Steel' sequel film.

In an interview with French print publication Les Inrockuptibles, Tarantino said: "I have to admit that I don't really have an opinion [on Ben Affleck being cast as Batman.] Why? Because Batman is not a very interesting character.

"For any actor. There is simply not much to play."

"I think Michael Keaton [who stars in 1989 'Batman' and 1992's 'Batman Returns'] did it the best, and I wish good luck to Ben Affleck."

There was backlash against Affleck - who has long been a fan of the Batman - when it was first revealed that he had been cast in the film.

The star previously revealed Warner Bros. bosses scheduled a meeting with him to put his mind at ease and advise him to ignore the negative comments.

He explained: "The people from the studio were like 'We're thrilled... and listen we want to talk to you because people go through this process and it can be a little trying.'

"They said, 'We want to show you some of the reactions that past cast members have got on the internet.' "

The highly anticipated film which is being referred to as 'Superman vs Batman' is set for release on June 17 2015.

Superman (Cavill) faces off against Batman (Affleck) in the aftermath of the near-destruction of Metropolis at the end of Man of Steel. Despite a pretty strong screenplay, the two leads are no more than functional and Wonder Woman (Gadot) is a damp squib. But if the film lacks Marvel's sense of fun, in its fidgety and…
