Sharon Osbourne returns to America
Sharon Osbourne will be advising her 'X Factor' finalists on the phone as she has returned to Los Angeles for three days ahead of the first live shows this weekend
Sharon Osbourne is advising her 'X Factor' acts by phone.
The 'Talk' presenter has flown back to her Los Angeles home, meaning her Over 25s - Shelley Smith, Lorna Simpson and Sam Bailey - are without hands-on advice ahead of the first live show this weekend, but she has reassured them she is still available to guide them through the process.
A source said: "Sharon will be away from her acts for three days, which is a shame as they are bound to get nervous and want reassurance and last-minute help with their acts.
"However, Sharon has put in a lot of extra work with them this weekend, choosing their songs, styling and choreography.
"She even spent Sunday night having dinner with her acts at 'The X Factor' house.
"Most people would get jet lag but Sharon is used to it. She's a pro and has promised her acts she's only ever a phone call away."
And the hopefuls haven't been left completely adrift as Sharon's fellow judges, Gary Barlow and Nicole Scherzinger, have stepped in to give a helping hand.
Sharon admitted on 'Lorraine': "I get calls from Nicole and Gary and they'll say to me, 'We know you are travelling back and forth and if there is anything you want me to do or anybody needs some extra time, we're here.' "
Insiders insist it was always known Sharon would spend much of the time between shows in America.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "'X Factor' bosses always knew she wouldn't be with her acts midweek when they employed her. She has family commitments."
