Tony Jacklin was eliminated from 'Strictly Come Dancing' last night (06.10.13).
The golfing legend became the first celebrity to receive the boot from the BBC One show after he and his professional partner Aliona Vilani lost out to fashion designer Julien Macdonald and Janette Manrara in the dance-off.
The 69-year-old star found himself stuck at the bottom of the leaderboard with a measly 13 out of 40 points following a disastrous performance of the Charleston to Duke Ellington's 'It Don't Mean A Thing (If It Ain't That Swing)'.
Sharp-tongued judge Craig Revel-Horwood - who gave the couple a two out of 10 score - said: "Charlestons should be energetic and frenetic but unfortunately, yours was limp, lame and lacklustre."
However, head judge Len Goodman jumped to Tony's defence, saying: "You gave only been dancing for about five weeks - I've been golfing for 50 years and I am still terrible."
Tony - who is regarded as one of the most successful British golfers - blamed his below par performance on his nerves and lack of experience in front of an audience.
Speaking to the Daily Express newspaper, he explained: "I've stood on the first at The Open Championship and held my nerve to sink important putts, but 'Strictly' was a different ball game - I was absolutely petrified.
"It was so intimidating dancing in front of a live audience and millions of viewers at home, I just couldn't let myself go."
