Spencer Matthews admits being on TV brings out his worst side.

The 'Made in Chelsea' star - who has admitted cheating on previous girlfriends Louise Thompson and Lucy Watson - insists he isn't a bad person, but admits his outspoken "dark" nature comes to the forefront on the show because he thinks it makes for better viewing.

He said: "I thought there was a void in the show for a slightly darker character that needed filling. I'm not saying that the show is fake or I'm acting, but I do allow myself to come from a darker place when I'm on it.

"I actively behave in a certain way because it's good for TV, but I'm not a malicious a******e. I'm really not."

Spencer also claims the show can make relationships more "toxic".

He added to heat magazine: "Yes I'm friends with Louise again, we had drinks last night. The show just makes things toxic. You have a lot of people whispering in your year, telling you how you should be feeling."
