New series of TV series 24 to be shot in London

New series of 24 to be shot in London

Kiefer Sutherland is set to reprise his role as the seemingly immortal god of interrogation, Jack Bauer, in a reboot of the 24 series named 24: Live Another Day. The new series, which will see the exiled government agent pounding the streets of London, will unburden itself from the ‘real-time’ format that originally made the show so popular. As before, the action will take place over the course of one day, but this will now be crammed into 12 adrenaline fuelled episodes. It’s not all change however, as Mary Lynn Rajskub, Kim Raver and William Devane will return as Chloe O'Brian, Audrey Raines and as James Heller respectively, while Howard Gordon will once again sign on as executive producer.

The new series, set to be aired in May 2014, represents something of a gamble for the show as, after eight seasons and a movie, many will be wondering how much more is really left to say. Nevertheless, Sutherland seems enthused about the prospect of a new Bauer storyline, saying, 'To be able to tell this intense 24-style story with the beauty of Europe’s history and architecture as the backdrop is going to be fascinating.' Let’s just hope that he remembers to set his watch to GMT.
