Tom Hiddleston wants Loki to have a girlfriend in the 'Thor' movies.

The actor plays the mischievous villain - who is brother to Chris Hemsworth's Thor - in the Marvel movie franchise and he says he'd love to see the comic book relationship between his character and fellow baddie the Enchantress adapted for the big screen.

He explained to Total Film magazine: "When I was first reading the comics, the relationship with the Enchantress was one of the really fun things I thought would be good to explore, and may have even pitched it to [Marvel Studios president] Kevin Feige at some point. Because she is as sneaky and as untrustworthy as he was.

"They basically had a really fantastic and twisted relationship until they both say, 'You know what? I don't trust you as far as I can throw you. It's over.' Because they keep betraying each other, in a way. So it could be good."

Hiddleston's Loki first appeared in 2011's 'Thor' and played the main antagonist in 2012's epic blockbuster, 'The Avengers'.

Loki will next be seen in 'Thor: The Dark World', but Hiddleston has no idea if he'll appear in other Marvel franchises such as 'Iron Man' and 'Captain America'.

He said: "I really don't know. I wish I could say. I think it would be hilarious, but I don't know."

Thor: The Dark World

  • Directed by: Alan Taylor
  • Cast: Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman
  • UK release: 30 October 2013

Thor (Hemsworth) returns to Asgard to find the peace threatened by the re-emergence of old enemies the Dark Elves, led by Malekith (Eccleston). Despite experienced director Taylor, it's less satisfying than Branagh's original; Thor has become one-dimensional and the greater emphasis on humour makes for a more uneven style.
