X Factor fans slam 'cruel' Boot Camp twist
'The X Factor' fans have slammed the "cruel" Boot Camp format, which saw hopefuls dreams smashed into pieces after being told they'd got through to the next round and then being booted off last minute.
'The X Factor' fans have slammed the new "cruel" Boot Camp format.
Viewers have vowed to turn their backs on the ITV talent show after the mean twist - which meant judges could swap any of the acts they had already chosen for the next round with someone else - left hopefuls distraught.
Lily Allen took to Twitter on Saturday night (28.09.13), writing: "when did become alright to f**k with peoples minds so much. xfactor has got fully mean.
"I'd like to think im more of a strictly person.
"this whole 6 seat sh*t, its brutal. (sic)".
Kenny Doughty also said: "X-Factor is turning into Hunger Games! It's like pulling wings off flies. Cruel process. Poor kids! (sic)."
The change saw Sharon Osbourne, Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger watch as their categories took to the stage in front of an audience of 4,000, and after each performance the mentors could choose to send home an act or send them to one of the six seats on stage.
However, the panelists were given the power to replace any of the acts they had already chosen with someone else.
Saturday night's show saw contestants Lydia Lucy, Sheena McHugh and Karen Harding miss out on their seat after being told by Nicole they had already won their spot, and last night (29.09.13) saw Sabrina Rumikie, Katie Markham and Alejandro Fernadez-Holt have their dreams shattered after they were also given the boot.
