Bear Grylls: I'm only 75 per cent reckless
TV adventurer Bear Grylls admits becoming a father has made him go from being "120 per cent reckless to 75 per cent reckless"
Bear Grylls has gone from being "120 per cent reckless to 75 per cent reckless" since becoming a father.
The 39-year-old adventurer - who has three sons, Jesse, Marmaduke and Huckleberry - is well known for his near-death experiences on his various TV shows, but admits since getting older and having children with his wife Shara he has become a lot more cautious and aware of the danger he puts himself in.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "You only get it wrong once. The crew said I used to be 120 per cent reckless but now they reckon it's about 75 per cent, it's progress in the right direction."
Bear returns to action in brand new series 'Bear Grylls: Escape from Hell', which features three incredible real life survival stories each episode of ordinary people fighting for their lives in some of the most hostile environments on the planet - and the adventurer admits the show has helped him to appreciate how precious his family is.
He added: "The value of family has been the big lesson for me, we live in an amazing world but you look at some of these stories in 'Escape from Hell'.
"These guys go out there seeking adventure and realise they have to go through hell just to get home, so it has definitely taught me the value and wonder of home."
Bear is back in brand-new series, 'Bear Grylls: Escape from Hell', premiering on Discovery Channel October 7 at 9pm (Sky 520 and Virgin 211).
