Lily Allen is adamant her new album won't contain motherly vibes after becoming a mum to one-year-old daughter Ethel and eight month old Marnie

Lily Allen is adamant her new album won't be an "mum" record.

The 28-year-old singer insists becoming a mum to daughters Ethel, 22 months, and Marnie, eight months, hasn't changed her take on music and her upcoming record will still be filled with sarcastic observations and swear words.

Speaking to HELLO! magazine, she said: "It's not an earnest 'I'm a mum' kind of record. It's empowering. There's some feminist vibes going on. It's the same old me with a bit of swearing going on. Good choruses, key changes here and there - that's it."

'The Fear' hitmaker admits it will be tricky juggling her career with motherhood, especially with a 2014 tour in the pipeline, but feels ready to throw herself back into the music scene.

She explained: "It's hard. I'm constantly trying to get the balance right. I always just want to get home to put my little girls to bed. It doesn't always happen but I'm very blessed to be able to do what I do.

"I need to go on holidays before the next couple of years of work kick in. I need to spend time with my girlies and my husband and get my head down. It's exciting, but I'm still nervous."
