Catherine Tyldesley's 'weird' Coronation Street feeling
Coronation Street's Catherine Tyldesley admits she had a "weird feeling" she would end up starring in the ITV soap because she felt "at home" at the studios.
Catherine Tyldesley always had a "weird feeling" she would end up starring in 'Coronation Street'.
The 29-year-old stunner plays beautiful barmaid Eva Price in the ITV soap and while she didn't expect to land the role when she went for the audition, she had a sneaking suspicion she would get a part on the show at some point in her career.
She said: "I was a massive 'Corrie' fan from the age of 13. Without sounding big-headed, I had this weird feeling that I'd end up there. I kept being called to castings so I was in and out of the studios all the time.
"I felt at home there. But when the part of Eva came up, I thought I didn't stand a chance.
"The other actresses at the audition were younger than me and look different."
Catherine insists she is a self-confessed "workaholic" and while she enjoys filming the show for hours on end, she feels bad when it means she has to cancel drinks with her friends at the last minute.
She added to HELLO! magazine: "At the moment I can't imagine leaving. I've discovered that I'm borderline workaholic but it makes me very happy.
"I film all day, get home at daft o'clock and go straight to bed. But that's exactly how I like it.
"The only problem is when it comes to making time for family and friends. The 'Corrie' schedules change all the time so I'm constantly cancelling arrangements.
"I hate letting people down. It's important to set aside time for the people you love."
