Manic Street Preachers closed Festival No.6 last night (15.09.13).

The 'Show Me the Wonder' group gave a preview of tracks from their new album 'Rewind the Film' - released today (16.09.13) as they headlined the event in Portmeirion, Wales.

After opening with old favourite 'Motorcycle Emptiness' and performing 'No Surface All Feeling' and 'Tsunami' the band showcased new material, playing recent single 'Show Me the Wonder', followed by 'Anthem for a Lost Cause'.

Later in proceedings fans were treated to other news songs including 'This Sullen Welsh Heart', '30-Year War' and the title track from the acoustic-led album.

Speaking before their appearance, singer James Dean Bradfield told WalesOnline.com: "Knowing that you're still in a rock 'n' roll band at the age of 44, some people might view it as being preposterous, but it also gives us a real shot in the arm when we realise the basic reality of our lives and that annuls you from a midlife crisis, hopefully."

Elsewhere during the closing day of the event, Chic Featuring Nile Rodgers appeared, lifting spirits dampened by a morning of strong wind and heavy rains with their party vibes. Other stellar performances included Johnny Marr and These New Puritans.

Over 10,000 guests had visited the festival - sponsored by car company Volo - over the weekend, to watch live music, comedians and poets including Lianne La Havas, John Cooper Clarke, Mark Thomas and The Brythoniaid Male Voice Choir, who performed an especially commissioned version of Chic's 'Good Times'.
