Drake wants to pay his respects to Kanye West.

The 26-year-old singer admits hearing the 'New Slaves' rapper's speech at the OVO Festival on Monday (05.08.13), which saw Kanye credit the singer for his determination, made him realise how much appreciates the 'Black Skinhead' hitmaker as well.

Speaking to MTV news, Drake said: "That [the speech] was probably the most important moment in my career to date.

"I think me and Kanye have wanted to express our respect for each other for a long time and sometimes rap, the business, the competitiveness and just the heart behind it forces you to not talk to the people you quietly admire."

Meanwhile, the 36-year-old star is set to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards later this month - his seventh onstage appearance - where he'll sing 'Black Skinhead' at the ceremony, which will air live from the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York City.
