Ben Price: Corrie fans will hate me
Coronation Street's Ben Price is expecting fans to hate him when his alter-ego Nick Tilsley turns nasty following a horrific crash
Ben Price is expecting fans to hate him when his 'Coronation Street' character turns nasty.
The 41-year-old actor - known for playing charming businessman Nick Tilsley - has prepared himself for the flack he'll receive from the public when his alter-ego has a personality change following the lethal crash, which leaves him lying in a coma for six weeks.
Ben told The Sun newspaper: "He is no longer Mr Nice guy. The consequences of the crash are significant and his anger is off the scale. His character totally flips. He gets obsessive and he isn't rational at all.
"When the girls fuss over him, he reacts very, very angrily - every part of him is floundering."
However, the hunky star isn't fazed by the abuse he'll gain as his gritty storyline picks up because he believes it means he's doing his job as an actor properly.
He explained: "People have always been very kind to me when I meet them on the street because Nick is Mr Nice but when they see him change, I expect them to shout at me instead.
"But that's fine because it means I'm doing something right."
Ben - who joined 'Coronation Street' in 2009 - is over the moon that his character has lasted three years on the Cobbles and has landed some of the biggest stories to ever grace Weatherfield.
He said: "I just thought I would be here for a couple of weeks so I must have done something right."
