Kylie Minogue to join The Voice?
This article is from 2013.
Kylie Minogue is reportedly set to replace Jessie J as a coach on 'The Voice UK', while Will Young is also being eyed for a spot on the panel.
Kylie Minogue is in "final talks" to be a coach on 'The Voice UK'.
The 'All the Lovers' hitmaker is reportedly seen by programme bosses as the ideal replacement for departed panelist Jessie J, after the 'Price Tag' star announced she was leaving after two series, but her busy schedule could make it difficult for her to commit to the talent show.
A source said: "Show execs have put Kylie at the top of their hit list. She's still a huge name in the pop industry and has over 25 years' music experience.
"Kylie is preparing to reinvent herself again after signing to Jay-Z's management firm Roc Nation, so it will all depend on timings and whether she can fit in the show around her release and promo schedule."
Kylie, 45, was approached after Emeli Sande ruled herself out, and it is believed producers will turn their attention to Paloma Faith if she rejects the offer.
Meanwhile, Will Young is set to take Danny O'Donoghue's seat on the panel.
The former 'Pop Idol' winner has spoken openly of the fact he was offered a role on the show before being dropped in favour of The Script frontman and he is now favourite to land the vacant spot.
The source added to the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: "Will is perfect BBC fodder. He is talented, well spoken and has been hugely successful over the last 10 or so years."
Mel C and Olly Murs have also been linked with slots on the show alongside existing coaches Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am.
