JLS' split has hit Oritse Williams the hardest.
The 26-year-old singer has been finding it difficult to come to terms with the "huge decision" for the band - which also includes Marvin Hume, Jonathan J.B. Gill and Aston Merrygold - to part ways, which they announced in April and will see them bow out after a tour in December.
Oritse told BANG Showbiz: "I've got that real root attachment to the band. It's like having a baby and rearing it, then seeing it become 18 and leave home - it's a really difficult thing to do."
Oritse described his band mates as "brothers" who have shared a deep connection during their time together.
He said: "Only we know the journey we've been on over the last few years. Nobody knows about the darker times, when no one believed in us.
"Nobody saw those moments. Those are the moments we will share forever."
The band are working on a show stopping finale for their fans to celebrate JLS' achievement before they move on.
He said: "We're preparing for the end in an amazing way. We've got an exciting tour, it's going to be a nostalgic celebration. The fans will love it."
"We've worked really hard and achieved a lot of things in our seven years as a group.
"And I think it's just time for it to come to an end and move on to something different."
Oritse is planning to set up his own artist management company once the band go their separate ways.
