Liam Gallagher will perform a surprise gig at Glastonbury this weekend, after insisted he would never go back
Liam Gallagher will play Glastonbury, despite vowing never to return.
The Beady Eye front man will perform a surprise gig with the band at the huge festival in Southern England this weekend, despite saying he'd never return after a bad experience performing with his old band, Oasis, who played three times, in 1994 then headlining in 1995 and 2004.
After the last show Liam said: "The sound is really s***t and really quiet. You can hear the crowd talking while you're playing, they don't put money into the PA and it's just full of f***ing idiots."
Even in April this year, the 40 year-old rocker claimed he was "never, ever doing that thing ever again," and said he felt it has lost touch with its hippy roots.
He added: "Now it's like [London's fashionable] Bond Street with mud, with loads of celebrities walking around in their boots and umbrellas. I'm not having it."
Liam has obviously had a change of heart now Beady Eye have just released second album 'BE', and he is keen to showcase it to as many people as possible.
Secret guests when the festival was last staged in 2011 were Pulp and Radiohead.
Meanwhile Two Door Cinema Club's 'What You Know' has been named the most popular track added to over 13,000 Glastonbury playlists created on music streaming service Spotify in the last two months.
The Vaccines, Foals, Vampire Weekend and headliners Mumford and Sons and Arctic Monkeys also proved to be the most popular acts.
