Seth Rogen believes "most movies" are awful.

The 31-year-old actor - who has starred in several acclaimed comedies, including 'Knocked Up' and 'The 40-Year-Old Virgin' - says the majority of films he auditioned for, but wasn't cast in, turned out to be bad in the end, so he has no regrets about his failures.

Speaking in an interview with MTV News, he said: "Over the years, you start to realise most movies suck. There's this movie called 'The Last Castle' with Robert Redford. That's a movie I auditioned for. I remember that everyone was like, 'Oh, this is going to be a big, good movie,' and then like it literally, like, came and went.

"And there's another one called 'Hart's War' with Bruce Willis that you were just like, 'Oh this is going to be amazing, an Oscar sweep.' And now you're just like, 'What the f**k is 'Hart's War'?

"Honestly, there are almost no movies I auditioned for and didn't get that actually turned out to be good."

Raking his brain for parts he lost out on, Seth did concede 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' was a film he regrets not being cast in.

He added: "I auditioned for the Elijah Wood's role in 'Eternal Sunshine...' That might be the only movie, literally in like the decade I auditioned for movies that actually turned out to be a good movie that when I saw it I was like, 'I wish I was in that movie.' "
