Sir Paul McCartney and KT Tunstall are among a host of artists who have signed up as video tutors on the downloadable music training website Now Play It.

The training service will see well known musicians produce 30-minute lessons for online amateurs.

This includes chord patterns and drum charts, while the artists also have the opportunity explain the tricky bits.

The former Beatle recorded his offering last week; selecting a song from his current album Memory Almost Full called Ever Present Past.

A spokesman for Now Play It said: “Sir Paul recorded lessons for bass drums and guitar all inside one hour.

“He hopes to record further tutorials from his classic back catalogue.”

Sessions cost £4 each and can be viewed on digital music players which are video enabled. The tutorials will be included towards Top 40 chart sales.

The music website was recognised at the BT Digital Music Awards 2007, taking home the title of best digital service.
