Vic Reeves was named a comedy legend at the Loaded Laftas Comedy Awards, while David Gest was crowned funniest reality TV person.

Reeves has starred in a number of hit shows over the years, including Shooting Stars with Bob Mortimer.

“It’s the most fantastic thing ever,” he said.

“I’ve won three Baftas and numerous other awards, but there comes a time in a man’s life when he needs to look back and this is the best compliment.”

Justin Lee Collins won two prizes at the ceremony which celebrates Britain’s comedy stars, taking home funniest man as well as funniest double act with his Friday Night Project co-presenter Alan Carr.

They had pipped surprise nominees David and Victoria Beckham to the post for the comedy double act honour.

Star of the Green Wing, Michelle Gomez, meanwhile was voted funniest woman.

Readers of Loaded magazine vote for award winners, with the ceremony held at the Pigalle Club in London’s Piccadilly.
