Britney to release Blackout early after online leaks

Britney Spears is to release her new album two weeks earlier than planned, after recording were leaked online.

The pop princess, currently the target of unending media speculation over her private life, will release Blackout on October 30 in the States.

Her record label Jive Records added that the album would be released a day earlier internationally after album tracks, unfinished material and demos all found their way onto the internet.

It is the singer’s first collection of new material in four years.

Spears has already released one single from the album, Gimme More, which she also performed as part of her disastrous comeback attempt at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The song scored 179,000 US downloads in its first week.

The unpredictable pop princess performs songs from her seventh studio album, Femme Fatale, alongside other chart-topping hits, such as …Baby One More Time, Oops… I Did It Again, Toxic and Womaniser.
