Leith Late - many-venued, multi-arts night out returns for third year

Highlights include Wounded Knee, LAW and Sparrow and the Workshop

Leith Late

Back for a third year, Leith’s sprawling, many-venued, multi-arts night out returns, showcasing over 30 artists and performers across 17 venues. There will be art exhibitions, live music, spoken word and film showings, between 6-9pm. The venues span the length and breadth of Leith Walk and include a former army drill hall, ambulance depot, barber’s salon and a bus.

Edinburgh label Song, by Toad will curate an evening of live acoustic sets at Swedish bar Boda; Wounded Knee will be dodging between venues and presenting his Pop-Up Song Shop, featuring ‘songs old, new, borrowed and blue’; Elvis Shakespeare will host instore shows from local garage punks and folk balladeers, while Superclub opens a new show by Leon Sadler and JR McNeill called BOGLES HOLE.

And after the party, well, it’s the after-party. Down at Pilrig Church, we recommend checking out local lass LAW (and her dark and dubby Sade vibes, produced by Young Fathers), as she plays alongside pop quartet TeenCanteen and three-piece Sparrow and the Workshop.
