Jennifer Lopez defends Britain's Got Talent outfit
Jennifer Lopez insists 'Britain's Got Talent' told her to wear her racy outfit during Tuesday night's (28.05.13) live semi-finals, after the show received more than 100 complaints from the public claiming her clothing was too revealing.
Jennifer Lopez claims she was told to wear a raunchy outfit during her performance on 'Britain's Got Talent'.
The 43-year-old singer has hit back at critics who described her clothing - a revealing black leather bodysuit - as "too sexy" for the show and insists TV bosses requested the ensemble for Tuesday's (28.05.13) live semi-final after seeing her in a similar piece during her gig at the Billboard Awards earlier this month.
Speaking on BBC Radio 1, Jennifer said: "I think people are so much raunchier than I am. I feel like I'm so tame. We wore it at Billboard and 'Britain's Got Talent' said they wanted exactly the same. So I thought I'd wear the outfit in black."
More than 100 viewers have since complained to the TV watchdog following the performance of her new single 'Live It Up', but the blonde beauty doesn't see why there is such a commotion surrounding the costume.
She added: "No one complained at Billboard. I think people just like to talk. It was a body suit. A lot of performers wear that these days. It is standard stage clothes. I'm not going to walk down the street like that!"
But 'BGT' judge David Walliams - who sits on the panel alongside show boss Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon - seemed amused by the public backlash.
He wrote on Twitter: "If you were shocked and disgusted by @JLo 's performance on #BGT you can see lots of photos and watch the video here ... (sic)"
