Clare Balding wants horse marriage
Clare Balding is planning an "outrageous" wedding for when gay marriage is made legal in the UK and wants her and her partner Alice Arnold to enter on a horse.
Clare Balding wants to get married on a horse.
The 42-year-old presenter is keen to tie the knot with Alice Arnold - who she entered a civil partnership with in 2006 - as soon as gay marriage is made legal in the UK, and she has already made "outrageous" plans to wed in style.
Clare, 42, explained: "The best thing is to plan the most outrageous wedding. I will have the 'Black Beauty' theme music, Alice will be on a Shetland pony because she is quite little and I'll be on a shire horse because I'm quite big.
"Everyone will bring their dogs and we will have comedians and 80s music. I'm going to have all the Olympic gold medallists there, with Mo Farah doing the Mobot!"
Clare - who currently hosts a Sunday morning show on Radio 2 and quiz programme, 'Britain's Brightest' - admits Alice finds it hilarious that she's now a renowned celebrity after picking up a BAFTA earlier this year for her presenting skills during the Olympic Games.
Speaking on 'Alan Carr: Chatty Man' - which airs tonight (31.05.13) - she said: "She [Alice] thinks it's hysterical that I'm a national treasure. I have called my BAFTA, Bert. I think I can milk it forever. It's like being an Olympic champion. I will demand to be a BAFTA-winner for life."
