Beverley Callard is returning to 'Coronation Street'.
The 56-year-old actress will stepping back onto the cobbled streets of Weatherfield as her character Liz McDonald two years after she left the soap in 2011 because of health reasons.
Viewers will see Liz come back in October and she will be quick to find out what's going in the life of her son Steve (Simon Gregson) and will be surprised to discover he has rekindled his romance with Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh).
The show's producer Stuart Blackburn has given Beverley - who quit the programme because she feared she was slipping back into the depression that affected her in 2009 - a six-month, £50,000 contract and will make it a permanent deal if she wants to stay on.
Stuart said: "I'm truly thrilled to welcome Bev back to the Street, she's a fantastic actor and Liz McDonald is a truly wonderful character. It won't come as any surprise to learn that her return is sure to ruffle more than a few feathers - welcome home Liz!"
Beverley is thrilled to be returning and she can't wait to get back to Weatherfield.
She said: "I am coming home and I can't wait. I am so excited to be back, I have missed Liz so it will be great to play her again. Hopefully her skirts will have a got a little bit longer but we will see!
"I have been getting texts from Simon saying we are going to rock the place and can't wait to work with Kym again and see if we can control the giggles."
Bev first stepped into Beverley's high heels in 1989 when she arrived with twin sons Steve and Andy (Nicholas Cochrane) and ex-soldier husband Jim (Charles Lawson).
