Pop group S Club are planning their own reality show with 19 Entertainment to rival ITV2's 'The Big Reunion'.

S Club are planning their own reality show to rival 'The Big Reunion'.

The 'Reach' group, previously known as S Club 7, have been pursued by the ITV2 show after the success of the first series - which saw groups including Atomic Kitten and Blue come together to discuss their pitfalls and perform - but the pop stars are hoping for founding firm 19 Entertainment to give them their own programme.

A source told The Sun newspaper: " 'The Big Reunion' was such an incredible success the first time round that ITV are currently signing up bands for the second series. S Club were very high on their list but getting them seems to have been scuppered by this latest move.

"To be fair to 19 Entertainment, they created S Club 7 so there's no reason why ITV should be making a load of money bringing them back together."

It is thought the show will be similar to the 'Steps Reunion' on Sky Living in 2011 and all seven members of S Club - Rachel Stevens, Jo O'Meara, Hannah Spearritt, Tina Barrett, Bradley McIntosh, Paul Cattermole and Jon Lee - are ready to "jump" at the opportunity.

The insider added: "Approaches have been made and it looks like the S Club boys and girls will all jump at the chance to get involved.

"There are still a few things to iron out but everyone is very hopeful this will be a goer. While a few of them have done mini reunions over the years, they have never got all seven back together.

"If the show comes off, it will be similar in format to 'Steps Reunion' and will capture the ups and downs of the band as they meet up again and start performing.

"It's a bit of a kick in the teeth for ITV and 'The Big Reunion' but it's sure to make great television."

S Club 7 were formed in 1999 and sold ten million albums during their career before splitting up in 2003, a year after Jon quit the group.

The Big Reunion Boy Band Tour

More 90s boybands than you can shake a stick at as the ITV2 show goes live with a line up culled from both series including Five, Blue, 911, A1, Damage, 3T and 5th Story (aka Gareth Gates, Dane Bowers, Adam Rickitt, Kavana and Kenzie).
