Scottish artists in running for Artes Mundi Prize

  • 3 October 2007

Two Scottish artists are in the running for the £40,000 Artes Mundi Prize.

The artwork created by Matthew Dalziel and Louise Scullion has been shortlisted along with eight other international artists, including Lida Abdul, Susan Norrie and Rosangela Renno.

They are both Dundee-based artists who trained in Glasgow.

Their signature Dalziel + Scullion artwork has been exhibited at the Gallery of Modern Art and the Kelvingrove Art Gallery in Glasgow, as well as international shows as far afield as Tokyo, New York and Australia.

They have worked together since 1993 and use photography, video, sound and sculpture to raise questions about our habitat and the living world.

The shortlisted artists will be exhibited together in Cardiff in March next year, with the winner of the third Artes Mundi Prize announced at the end of April
