Jet to compete on Strictly Come Dancing?
Former 'Gladiators' star Jet is reportedly being lined up to appear on the next series of 'Strictly Come Dancing'
Former 'Gladiators' star Jet is being targeted for the next series of 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The ex-gymnast - whose real name is Diane Youdale - shot to fame on the 1990s action challenge series, but was forced to quit after suffering a serious back injury and is now set to return to prime-time Saturday night television on the BBC celebrity dance contest.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "We are looking for familiar faces on that dancefloor."
Since leaving 'Gladiators', Diane, 42, has worked in the fitness industry and made a handful of TV appearances, including on 'Celebrity Juice' and 'Big Brother' spin-off shows.
Though the line-up for this year's 'Strictly' - which returns to TV in September - has not been announced, stars including kids TV presenters Dick and Dom, Slade singer Noddy Holder and soccer player Michael Owen are reportedly in the frame for the show.
Spice Girls singer Mel C has admitted she would like to take part because her four-year-old daughter Scarlet is a fan.
She said recently: "Scarlet loves dancing and she loves 'Strictly'.
"I think I'll have to do it just to make her proud. I'm a fan too, so you never know."
And 'Neighbours' actor Stefan Dennis, who plays villainous Paul Robinson, would also put on his dancing shoes for the contest.
He said last month: "I want to do 'Strictly Come Dancing'. My wife wants me to do it because I have got two left feet and she is a professional dancer.
"For me, 'Strictly Come Dancing' isn't a reality TV programme, it is a talent show. Talent shows have been around forever. People love them."
