Louis Walsh has confirmed former Spice Girl Mel B is on the shortlist for a judging spot on the new series of 'The X Factor', along with Nicole Scherzinger and Tulisa.
Louis Walsh has confirmed Mel B is on the shortlist for 'The X Factor', along with Nicole Scherzinger and Tulisa.
The Irish music mogul - who is the only original panellist since the show began in 2004 - has revealed the former Spice Girl is a contender for a sought-after judging position on the next series of the show even though Simon Cowell has already signed her up to his other global talent show 'America's Got Talent'.
When asked which female star would be taking the final spot alongside himself, Gary Barlow and reported new judge Sharon Osbourne, Louis told website entertainment.ie: "I think it will be Mel B, Nicole Scherzinger or Tulisa.
"We don't know for definite, we don't know who the four judges are for definite."
Despite his riff with Tulisa during her time on the singing competition, when he previously branded her a "chav in a tracksuit", Louis insists he enjoys the company of the 'Young' hitmaker and would welcome her back with open arms.
He added: "I do really like her because she's fun. She's great fun."
The 60 year old even expressed his longing for Simon to return to the British show, along with former judge Cheryl Cole.
He added: "It would be great if Simon came back next year. I don't know if [Cheryl's] going to be back this year or not.
"I wouldn't be surprised. I'd never say never with her. Her and Simon could come back."
