'Doctors' are planning a Jane Austen-themed week.
The BBC soap are set to show several storylines across five episodes, expected to air in the autumn, inspired by the iconic author's novels following their Shakespeare week last year in collaboration with the World Shakespeare Festival.
Actress Dido Miles, who plays Emma Reid in the medical-based show, said: "We film it in June, so it'll go out in September, October time. Some of us will be our characters as you know us, and then others of us won't be the characters as you know us - we'll be real Jane Austen characters.
"Most of us are [involved]. The people that aren't have got serial storylines that are running concurrently, so they're busy doing other stuff."
Dido - who was joined by her co-stars Elisabeth Dermot Walsh (Zara Carmichael), Danielle Henry (Mandy Marquez) and Vineeta Rishi (Jas Khella) on the programme - is nominated for the Best Dramatic Performance accolade at the 2013 British Soap Awards on Sunday (19.05.13) after Emma became part of an assisted suicide earlier this year.
The actress is thrilled the sensitive storyline has been recognised and knows it has helped many viewers.
She added to ITV's 'This Morning': "It doesn't matter what your job is, everyone wants recognition and to feel that they're on the right track.
"For us, that was such a big storyline and it's very current and much more common than people think. I've had an awful lot of letters from people who live with that situation, saying, 'Thank you for telling that story'. We told it from each person's perspective and tried to get a rounded viewpoint."
