Hugh Jackman to appear in Kumars
Hugh Jackman is to appear in 'The Kumars at No. 42' after filming a "couple" of sketches for the returning comedy chat show.
Hugh Jackman is to appear in 'The Kumars at No. 42'.
The Australian actor agreed to do comedy creator Sanjeev Bhaskar a "favour" and film a "couple" of sketches on "one of his off days" from shooting musical drama 'Les Miserables'.
Sanjeev told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "We've got these sketches that we do in the show now.
"Hugh Jackman has done one for us. Zoe Wanamaker's done one for us as well.
"I asked him if he would do me a huge favour and shoot something.
"In the end he rather kindly, between filming scenes, came away and did a couple of things for us. So he's a great guy."
Sanjeev revealed last year - six years after the BBC stopped airing the programme - that the show was returning to Sky One.
Original cast members Meera Syal, Vincent Ebrahim and Indira Joshi are all returning for the show, which will see the family having moved to a flat in Hounslow because of the economic downturn but still hosting their talk show from the smaller property.
The new series of the show sees the family flat situated behind the gift shop that Dad, Ashwin, now runs.
Host Sanjeev is divorced from wife of under two years Bindiya, but they share custody of their eight-year-old daughter.
The family talk show is resurrected thanks to a sponsorship deal which Ashwin secures.
