Jennifer Garner joins Imagine
Jennifer Garner and Sir Michael Caine have joined the cast of music drama 'Imagine' alongside Al Pacino, Annette Bening and Bobby Cannavale
Jennifer Garner will star opposite Sir Michael Caine in 'Imagine'.
The 'Juno' actress and the 'Dark Knight Rises' actor have joined the cast of Dan Fogelman's forthcoming music drama, alongside Al Pacino, Annette Bening and Bobby Cannavale.
The movie follows an aging rock star - played by Pacino - who is content to live off his past successes while still performing sell-out shows and enjoying life with his young girlfriend.
However, when he discovers an undelivered letter which John Lennon wrote to him when he was 19, he is inspired to rediscover his creativity and connect with the 40-year-old son he never made time for before.
As part of his new outlook on life, he moves into a small New Jersey hotel, where he makes friends with the manager (Bening).
Cannavale has stepped in to replace Jeremy Renner in playing the son, while Garner will be the rock star's daughter-in-law and Caine his manager.
Shooting is scheduled to begin in Los Angeles next month.
While David Garrett of Mister Smith Entertainment, who are selling the film worldwide, is hopeful 'Imagine' will have universal appeal, he says the movie is particularly targeted towards older cinemagoers.
He said: "There's a growing older cinema audience. In countries such as Spain, with over 50 per cent unemployment amongst 18-25 year olds, it's the 25-pluses who have more money to spend at the cinema.
"Ideally you want to have a film which crosses all quadrants, of younger, older, male, female. I hope 'Imagine's fabulous script will appeal to the 16s and up," he added."
