The Voice singer Matt Henry calls Jessie J 'amazing'
'The Voice' contestant Matt Henry has said his new mentor Jessie J is "amazing", while adding his is glad to be out of the shadow of former coach and lookalike will.i.am
'The Voice' hopeful Matt Henry says Jessie J is an "amazing" mentor.
Will.i.am axed his lookalike from his team on the TV talent show and the 'Price Tag' singer stole him for her own as the contestants work towards the knockout stages of the competition.
Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday newspaper Matt said: "Now I am being mentored by Jessie J, which is amazing and I can still speak to Will and we can have a level of conversation.
"Now Jessie is preparing us for the knockouts. I am going to have to work harder than ever before but it is going really well."
During his audition, the singer was said to look just like the Black Eyed Peas star but he's happy to step out of his shadow now he's switched mentors.
He admitted: "It is nice now it is less 'Will's lookalike' and more me as myself. I will have my own identity.
"I'm so glad I had the experience with Will and a lot of other artists would not have had that experience with him. I learned a lot."
Matt also claimed there is a "higher standard" of talent on Team Jessie, saying he has "gone from the frying pan into the fire".
He added: "I feel like the new kid. Her team is so well established. I have come from a really hard team with Will to an even harder team with Jessie. The talent on her team is phenomenal.
"I do think it is a higher standard. I feel like I have gone from the frying pan into the fire - it has got hotter all of a sudden."
