Corrie's David Platt to ask for baby DNA test
Coronation Street's David Platt is to ask for a DNA test on his unborn baby to find out whether the little one will develop epilepsy like him, but the test could prove he's not the father
Coronation Street's David Platt is to ask for a DNA test on his unborn baby.
The hairdresser - who is played by Jack P. Shepherd - is keen to check whether the little one will develop epilepsy like him, but little does he know the test could prove he's not the father of the child as his brother Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) had a one-night stand with wife Kylie Platt (Paula Lane).
David's revelation panics bistro boss Nick, who worries he might ruin his brother's life if he turns out to be the baby's dad.
Ben said: "Nick tries beyond anything else to be cool and calm. He's been in a tram crash, he's saved lives, he's seen a few things, but this blows all of his control out of the window ...
"Kylie has got just as much to lose as Nick, she loves David completely.
"Nick has never had the perfect family unit and he wants it. He wants a child, he's ready for it, just not like this."
Nick is also concerned when David asks him and his wife Leanne Tilsley (Jane Danson) if they can be guardians of the unborn tot.
Ben added to ITV.com: "He wants to say no, but he can't. Every time something like this happens panic shoots through him."
