A Dutch dance duo have vowed to win over 'Britain's Got Talent' viewers who are unhappy they were allowed to compete

A Dutch dance duo have vowed to win over 'Britain's Got Talent' viewers.

Martin van Bentem and Marielle Constancia wowed the judges with their performance on Saturday's (04.05.13) show - with Amanda Holden branding them "sexy and exciting" and Alesha Dixon praising their "mesmerising" routine - but the TV audience were less-than-impressed with the inclusion of European competitors.

One viewer moaned on Twitter: "They're good... but why do they let foreign acts on 'Britain's Got Talent?'"

Anotheradded: "All of the best acts on 'Britain's Got Talent' are foreign, so basically Britain doesn't have talent."

However, the performers are hoping audiences can see past their nationality.

Martin said: "We hope that the British public will embrace us... and not focus on where we come from.

"[We'll win them over with] blood, sweat and tears."

Anyone with the right to live and work in the UK can enter the show, and ITV insist they just want to provide viewers with the best quality programme.

A spokesperson said: "We want to showcase the best variety talent that will entertain our audiences and it's a testament to the success of the series that, following the global success of the likes of Susan Boyle, people from all over Europe want to appear on our show."
