The xx: We're not miserable

The xx want people to realise they're not "miserable".
The trio - Oliver Sim, Romy Madley Croft and Jamie Smith - have a melancholic image thanks to their gloomy appearance in pictures and their only wearing black and white, but they insist they are very different in real life.
Oliver said: "We probably do look a little upset in photos."
Romy added: "I think that's something I'd like to change, the perception that we're just serious, miserable people. I don't feel that depressed."
The 'Angels' group are also surprised when people tell them they regarded their records as "sexy" music.
Oliver said: "An interviewer in his mid-fifties was telling us, quite graphically, how 'Infinity' reminded him of the time he lost his virginity."
Romy added in an interview with Time Out magazine: "We've had people come up to us after our gigs with their partners and let us know they've had a nice time to our music. You don't really know what to say. It was never intended. When we were making our music we were never like, 'Wow, this is really sexy.' "
