Karl Munro to exit Coronation Street
'Coronation Street' killer Karl Munro is exiting the show, but may claim another life before he does
'Coronation Street' killer Karl Munro is leaving the show.
Actor John Michie, who plays the twisted firestarter, has announced he is to bow out of the soap after two years, though his exit storyline - which will play out this summer - has not yet been revealed.
However, before his character - who was responsible for the fire which gutted the Rovers Return pub, then killed burns victim Sunita Alahan in hospital - leaves, it is claimed he could claim another life.
Sunita's widower, Dev, has become increasingly suspicious she was framed for starting the fire in recent months, and he could easily be targeted by Karl as he attempts to cover up his tracks.
Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) even confides in Karl, which could prove a fatal mistake.
He tells him: "I can't stop now. I feel close to something, I can feel it.
"I don't want people thinking the worst of Sunita. I've got to do what I've got to do."
Karl then picks up a golf trophy and hides it behind his back, and gives the businessman a sinister warning, saying: "Raking over the coals like this is just not helping.
"The kids have already lost their mum, if you don't get a grip then they might be in danger of losing you as well."
A soap insider says Karl's web of lies crumbles over the coming months leaving him a desperate man.
They told the Daily Star newspaper: "Will Karl commit a second murder?
"He knew what he was doing when he finished Sunita off in hospital. He's got the weight of the world on his shoulders and fans will have to wait and see what punishment the soap gods dish out."
