Charlie Brooks says starring on 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' was like a "spiritual experience".

The 'EastEnders' actress admits her triumphant stint on the 12th series of the Australian jungle-based show - which she won last year - was a life-changing experience and it has taught her not to worry about her problems as much as she used to.

She said: "When you're there, it's almost a kind of spiritual experience because you have so much time to think. I just kept playing little movies of my friends and family in my head.

"Because you're removed from real life, you start to think about what's really important and what just isn't worth worrying about.

"I think - I hope - I brought that attitude out of the jungle. I certainly don't worry about stuff as much as I used to."

The mother-of-one was shocked to be crowned Queen of the Jungle because she thought she came across as "really boring", but insists it was tough to be enthusiastic all the time because there wasn't much to do in the jungle.

She added to Soaplife magazine: "I thought I was really boring. There were far more interesting people in there.

"The hardest part was the boredom. It looks great on TV, crammed into an hour a day, but you try 24 hours a day of it.

"Your emotions are constantly up and down. The hunger was bad, too. I just got through it day by day and kept thinking that at least when I wasn't eating I was losing weight."
