The Apprentice to return on May 7
Lord Alan Sugar has confirmed his business challenge show 'The Apprentice' will return to BBC One on May 7 at 9pm
Lord Alan Sugar has confirmed 'The Apprentice' will return on May 7.
The 66-year-old entrepreneur took to his Twitter account to reveal the business challenge show will be back on BBC One for its ninth series next month, when there will be a double episode in its first week followed by an episode each Wednesday until the final.
He tweeted: "BREAKING NEWS: The Apprentice is back! - BBC1, 9pm - 1st episode Tue 7 May followed by 2nd episode Wed 8 May then every Wednesday thereafter (sic)"
Lord Sugar will be joined by his trusted advisors, Nick Hewer - who has been on the show for all nine series - and Karen Brady, who joined in series six following the departure of Margaret Mountford.
Nick's return comes as a surprise after he admitted last year he wanted to leave 'The Apprentice' because he felt too old to be assisting Lord Sugar.
He said: "There's another 'Apprentice' next year and maybe that will be the last.
"It has been 10 years and it's a bit of a milestone. I'm getting very old and I think I'm edging towards the hip replacement zone.
"If Lord Sugar wants me to do another series I'll do it.
"I owe him a great debt of gratitude because he rolled me into this thing and it's been a wonderful time."
