Melbourne-based ska-jazz collective The Cat Empire will visit the UK on their biggest world tour to date. Celebrating the release of their new album, Steal the Light, the genre-defying band will visit a total of four continents and perform a total of 70 shows.
Steal the Light is the band’s fifth studio album to date, coming a full decade after their first album. Their previous albums have variously won awards and gone platinum multiple times. Steal the Light has already provided their hit single 'Brighter Than Gold', which is sure to be a crowd pleaser on this tour (you can watch the video below).
The UK is the first stop on the band’s European leg, with the band spending more than a week touring the country. They will be supported by fellow Australians FLAP!, who will open all their shows in Europe.
With their roots in jazz, The Cat Empire have explored multiple musical genres to provide the best sounds for feeling good and dancing. The band’s vocalist and trumpeter Harry Angus has described the new album as 'a return to our original aesthetic.' Tickets go on sale on Fri 26 Apr.
