will.i.am would be a judge on The X Factor
'The Voice' judge will.i.am has admitted he would be glad to take on a similar role with competing TV singing show 'The X Factor' if he wasn't working for their rival.
'The Voice' coach will.i.am would appear on 'The X Factor' if he wasn't part of its rival show.
The Black Eyed Peas star is on the judging panel of the BBC1 singing contest but admitted he could be tempted to work for the competitor if he wasn't tied down.
Asked by The Sun newspaper if he'd be a judge on the show, he said: "If I wasn't doing 'The Voice', then yeah, I like 'The X Factor'. It's a great show."
The record producer-and-rapper had a run-in with Simon Cowell in the past - when the music mogul blamed the star for Cheryl Cole's 'X Factor' UK rejection after she was fired from the US series in 2011 - but he insisted the pair would be able to work together.
He added: "When i see Simon it is all fresh ... I could have burned myself, but that didn't happen and hats off to Simon for that. It could have ended up bad but it ended up great.
"I mentored with Britney [Spears] on American 'X Factor's' judges houses last year even though I'm on a competing show to Simon's in the UK.
"This is a competitive world so it just shows Simon's character. People can paint him to look bad, they can do whatever they want, but he is all right in my book. I have no qualms with Simon as a person."
