Michelle Keegan has thrown 'Coronation Street' filming into chaos after falling ill.
The 25-year-old actress - who plays Tina McIntyre - was sent home with a mystery virus yesterday (18.04.13) and will be off sick for a week, causing a series of last-minute changes to production schedules in order to accommodate her absence.
A show source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Michelle's illness is really bad news.
"We have been doing scenes in the new Rovers Return and other smaller stuff with Michelle but now we have ground to a halt on her storyline.
"We are desperately trying to move things around and get other actors in at the last minute so we don't waste time."
Despite her illness, 'Corrie' bosses are hopeful Michelle will return to work soon.
A spokesperson said: "She had a virus and saw a doctor who sent her home.
"It is nothing too serious, we are hopeful she will be back on set next week."
Michelle is currently at the heart of one of the soap's storylines, with her alter ego acting as surrogate mother for her friends Gary Windass (Mikey North) and Izzy Armstrong (Cherylee Houston).
