Craig Revel Horwood wants Sharon Osbourne on 'Strictly Come Dancing' in revenge for Simon Cowell "stealing" Alesha Dixon.

The outspoken judge believes having flame-haired star join the judging panel would make the perfect response to Alesha's upheaval to the music mogul's ITV show 'Britain's Got Talent' last year.

He told The Sun newspaper: "I'd like to have Sharon on the show. Simon stole Alesha Dixon so why couldn't we steal Sharon from 'X Factor'?

"It would definitely get people's attention."

Craig - who sits alongside judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Darcey Buseel, who took over from Alesha - is always happy with the celebrity contestants and was especially pleased by the response to last year's series, won by Olympic gymnast Louis Smith.

He added: "Every year we wonder how the team are going to make the next series better than the last, but they always manage it.

"We've had some fantastic stars on the show and they keep signing up. And all of those stars have different fan bases. When I go to rugby games the fans recognise me because they watch the show on Saturday night.

"I have noticed more of a reaction after last year though, because it was such a brilliant series. People are already excited about the next one."

Out of all the memorable moments from last year, Craig's new-found friendship with contestant Lisa Riley is the one he treasures most.

He said: "For me the highlight of the show was finding out how wonderful, lovely and funny Lisa is. We get on brilliantly well together.

"We spent a lot of time together on the 'Strictly Come Dancing' tour and there were naturally some messy nights. Since the tour finished I've spent even more time with Lisa because 'Strictly Confidential' is autobiographical - it tells her story on stage."
