Cybermen and Daleks to take on Doctor Who
'Doctor Who's 50th anniversary shows could see the Zygons and Cybermen team with the Daleks to try and destroy The Doctor.
Doctor Who's 50th anniversary show looks set to see the Cybermen and Zygons team with the Daleks.
Show writer Robert Banks Stewart has hinted fans will be seeing the titular Time Lord - who is portrayed by Matt Smith - take on a number of deadly foes in the bumper special show in November.
He told Digital Spy: "The Zygons are in there with all the others - particularly the Daleks and the Cybermen,
"[But] nobody yet knows what the plot of the 50th will be - Steven Moffat and his team in Cardiff, they are quite rightly keeping it all secret."
Robert has previously written classic 'Doctor Who' stories including 'Terror of the Zygons' - in which he introduced the shape-shifting monsters - in 1975 and 'The Seeds of Doom' the following year.
The anniversary show will feature a number of the Time Lord's incarnations, with David Tennant confirming he will appear alongside Matt.
He said: "It is strange being back in the same suit, but it also feels very familiar and comfortable. There's nothing quite like 'Doctor Who'. It has a wonderful excitement about it. I always had happy times there."
Also returning is former Doctor's companion, Billie Piper, who played Rose Tyler.
David added to TV & Satellite Week magazine: "It's lovely to be around Billie again, even though I see her all the time anyway."
