Mobile phone application 'Draw Something' is being turned into a TV show.

Channel 4 have commissioned a star-studded new game show called 'Draw It!' which will see two teams - each with one contestant and one celebrity - go up against each other in a series of drawing challenges with the eventual winner going on to work with two celebrities for the final round.

One contestant draws a picture for their partner, who then has to try to correct guess the image, in a similar format to the mobile phone app, which has been downloaded in excess of 50 million times.

Victory Television - the producers of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?' - are co-creating the programme and Victoria Ashbourne, the company's Managing Director, believes the "creative" and "humorous" side of the show will really appeal to viewers.

She explained: "There's a creative side to everyone, sometimes more obvious than others, and the show will really tap into that with a race against the clock and plenty of humour."

The news comes after it was announced US game show 'Draw Something' - which is hosted by Ryan Seacrest and also based on the app - was on the hunt for contestants in September.
