Simon Cowell to change 'every aspect' of X Factor
Simon Cowell has vowed to change "every aspect" of 'The X Factor' and confirmed there will be a new judge on the show this year who will appeal to both older and younger viewers.
Simon Cowell has vowed to change "every aspect" of 'The X Factor'.
The music mogul is determined to improve the show's ratings to make it "better" than it was "two or three years ago", so he has promised to alter the format of the forthcoming series which will see the programme looking "slightly different" to previous years.
He said: "The format is 10 years old and any format that has lasted that long ... you have to change the format because the inevitable result is if you don't [the ratings] will go down.
"Every aspect of the show [will be changed] in some particular way. It will look like a slightly different show to one you have seen before.
"My job is to try and make the show better than it was two or three years ago."
One definite change will be the introduction of a new judge who the 53-year-old star says will appeal to both older and younger viewers, but he failed to confirm recent speculation that Tulisa has been axed from the show.
Simon has ruled himself out of a return to the programme as a judge "for this year", but insists he will be a panellist on the show again at some point in the future.
He added to Radio Times magazine: "At some point I will definitely come back on it."
